THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE SAINT- LOUIS
College Saint- Louis was established in 1919 by Abbot Moret. The school took its name from Saint Louis of Gonzague. He was a young Jesuit student who died at the age of 23, in the service of people suffering from the terrible epidemic of the Black Plague, which ravaged Rome in 1591.
The school was originally a Catholic school (petit seminary) but in 1967 moved to Corsier and became a co-educational establishment, following the curriculum outlined by the Geneva Education Department for middle school education.
Today, a balance between the rigours of traditional teaching and the innovative methods of the modern classroom is what sets CSL apart and encourages pupils to perform to the best of their abilities.
In the heart of the Geneva countryside, the stunning natural setting of College Saint- Louis offers the perfect environment for pupils from 12 to 15 years old, to work and play. Come and discover the unique aspects of the school which offer pupils the best possible chance of success in their studies.
The school has around 30 teachers. The professional development of every teacher is an ongoing process and involves both in-house and external training.
